This is a picture of Hadrian's wall which is the border of Scotland and England. My camera was placed directly on the wall into the direction of Scotland. I like how cosy but wild it looks. And it symbolizes my passion for traveling. *sigh* I'm so looking forward to my next trip!

This picture makes me sad because I miss my piercing. Maybe I should wear it again? But I need to ask my bosses first. In a clinic it might be problematic and against policy (because it increases the risk of bacteria entering your body).

This is me at a friend's 30th birthday party. It was on halloween and we all dressed up. The picture was taken directly after I won a blindfolded eating contest. I'm dressed strangely, I have food all over my face, but the big smile tells you how I felt in that situation!

Currently I'm in Autria. It sounds really nice and you probably imagine me right now on skis or a snowboard, gliding down the hill and enjoying my life.
I'm not. I take part in a workshop, which lets me work more than 10 hours a day. Even on Saturday (this and next). My brain is stuffed to the brim with new information and ideas, and I will probably take home a lot. But right now I think I will sleep through sunday. And still be tired on monday... *sigh*

But enough complaining about my current situation, I met some great new friends here. I was peer pressured into facebook by some belgian girls. But I like it somehow! I've seen pretty landscape, ate great food and did more sports and healthy eating than during the last three month. And I still have another week to go!

My favourite qote is hard to define. I have read a lot of great quotes over the almost 20 years I can read myself. Some are only adequate under special circumstances, some can be applied to many different situations. So I will mention two quotes instead of one:

Erst durch Lesen lernt man, wieviel man ungelesen lassen kann.
(Just by reading you learn how much can be left unread.)

Pfeiff nicht wenn du pisst.

I think I might have mentioned this once or twice before, but my favourite book is "Spares" by Michael Marshall Smith. It contains, spaceships, war, robots, clones love and a broken detective, all mixed up to a story which you can't lay down once you started reading!

Here is the text on the back cover:
Coma meets Blade Runner in this future noir thriller, a compulsively readable melding of hardboiled narrative and hardware invention. Smith forecasts a decadent future in which the rich clone themselves at birth and callously harvest replacement organs from their "spares" as they need them. Narrator Jack Randall, a debauched but conscientious ex-cop, flees to the megalopolis of New Richmond with seven clones he has liberated from a spare farm and is almost immediately relieved of them by a gang of thugs. Jack's efforts to find out who has abducted the spares and marked them for death plunge him into a mystery that ultimately links the two events that have shattered his life: the brutal unsolved murder of his wife and child, and his soul-searing tour of military duty in The Gap. A virtual world built from the flotsam and jetsam cluttering the Internet, The Gap is an awesome conception made to seem supernaturally eerie yet scientifically feasible. Smith elaborates this creation brilliantly, as a surreal battleground where Jack confronts the demons that have haunted him for a decade, and as a symbol of emptiness and waste that brings the novel's numerous depictions of personal and social devaluation into sharp focus. Both a disconcerting portrait of a future that might be, and a poignant study of one man's fight to resist it, this novel augurs a promising future of another sort for its author.

My favourite TV programm is currently not running. It's the Mr Hell Show, which was shown in some minor TV channel (I think channel Tele5) about 5 years ago. I remeber watching every episode together with my brother. Heck, this is the only series I ever bought completely on DVD!
It's about Mr Hell, a sadistic and cruel yet humorous devil and several other short clips per episode. My favourite characters include Serge, the seal of death

Josh, the reincarnation guy (who has a short appearance here)

And Mr Hell of course!

This one is easier, my favourite movie is "Dark City". I stumbled upon this movie some years ago, while it was already past 1 am and I was just about to go to bed. I must have only missed the first few minutes, because I know I went to bed around 3 am.

I was not able to shut down the TV but watched with growing fascination how people messed with other peoples minds and how our own view and world can be easily changed. Here is the trailer, I can only recommend lending or buying this movie!

My favourite song is... well actually I think it is pretty hard to come up with ONE favourite song. It depends a lot on my mood, some times I listen to Rammstein, sometimes to HIM, sometimes to No Doubt. Sometime I have harsh electrosounds on repeat, then again I take out Antonio Vivaldi. One of the songs I liked for years and which has some meaning for me is this one:

Taking back decisions is something I had to learn the hard way. And I like the voice of Nina Person. I could almost not believe that they made the theme melody to "Romeo and Juliet", which I found horrible!

Not-birthday party

A good friend of mine had her 37th birthday in february. We decided to give her a brithday party last weekend and chose a "mad hatter" theme. We decorated everything in bright colours, dressed up to the nines and alltogether wore about 1kg of makeup and fake lashes!

The table was decorated with a "tablecloth" (I don't own a real tablecloth but we just used a bedcover) and some fabric in bright orange which I got from *wollmaus*. Everyone got a different cup, we layed out 20 different teas and some sweets. Then we added glitter, silver crackers and were ready to roll:

On our couch table we put the sweets - cake, muffins, lollipops- and crisps. Lateron we added our selfmade truffles and pralines to the table. We decorated them ourselves during the party!

I wore very bright colours (even for me), including my care bear skirt, puple tights and electric blue knee socks. Unfortunately I still wait for my full body pics taken by the birthday girl! ^^
